ISABELLA WOLFE IN THE PRESS

PROFILE
WHITEWALL: You have both Nicole Fuller Interiors, your design company and Isabella Wolfe, your furniture line. Do you have more passion for designing the furniture or for interior design?
NICOLE FULLER: They work hand in hand - but interior design embodies all of it.
WW: What is the origin of the name of your furniture line, Isabella Wolfe?
NF: Well, Isabella was my fairy-tale name for myself when I was a little girl.
WW: Strange...
NF: No, I actually like love the name Isabella. I would introduce myself to people as Isabella. The second half of what I say is a design alter ego, Wolfe, is from Elsie de Wolfe, who was sort of the first official female interior designer. I love her work. I love everything I've ever read about her as well.

Branching Out
Interior designer Nicole Fuller expanded her services earlier this year when she established Isabella Wolfe (wwww.isabellawolfe.com), a furniture company whose initial offerings include attention-grabbing yet elegant pieces that rang in price from about $4,000 for the lacquered Delight side table to $175,000 for the Family Tree chandelier-the highlight of the brand's inaugural collection. Silver-leaf branches as long as 9 feet extended in either direction from the chandelier's base, which resembles a tree trunk. The branches hold roughly 85 light bulbs, which are hidden behind crystals that reflect light in every direction. The made-to-order piece is also available in gold-leaf and rose-gold-leaf finishes, and, as with most of Fuller's designs, it can be custom-sized....

POP BENCH BY ISABELLA WOLFE
Niche owners Robina and Robert Yadegar aim to appeal to Angelenos' affinity for bright hues by filling their sunlit showroom with modern European brands
such as Paola Lenti and Kettal. But nothing packs quite so vivid and glam a punch as their acrylic Pop bench by Isabella Wolfe (starting at $11,670),
which comes in three sizes and features stacked legs in a medley of sparkling jewel tones. Niche, 8312 Beverly Blvd, LA; nicheyourhome.com

NEED IT NOW: Isabella Wolfe Wonderland Furniture
"My childhood took me on this turn to be very facinated with fairy tails and whimsical creatures-and creating my own environments," says Nicole Fuller,
one half of design team Vesper Wilde (they created jeweler Finn's showroom). Fuller is about to debut Isabella Wolfe, her own collection of 45 furniture
pieces, which includes a Wonderland series of bespoke, special-edition creations, like mushroom tables (seen here), giant swan chandeliers, and
black-widow-spider wall sculptures. The name is a hybrid of one of Fuller's favorite names and the last name of famed interior decorator and original
Elsie de Wolfe. "I love the way she looks at things," says Fuller. "She wasn't your ordinary beauty, but she brought beauty toward her."

FORWARD THINKING: Arthouse Glamour
Nobody wants to ride out the rest of the recession in total austerity. "People are turning down the volume," says Tara Bernerd, creative director
of the interior designers Target Living. "Design-wise, everyone is more discerning and people are having things made bespoke and being more creative
with their spaces." Nicole Fuller of Vesper Wilde in New York agrees. "I'm obsessed with using walls as blank canvases." Her own home features graded
pink ombre walls with fat beeswax crayon scribbles over the top. I'm creating distressed leather wall finishes with abstract florals tattooed in pure
mineral pigments," she says. The look is intricately crafted and modern, the sort of thing Established & Sons does well; a rock'n'roll take on arts
and crafts. Just add in a few familiar items recast interesting materials, such as one of Based Upon's bronze chairs.
